Frauders might phone you offering a great investing opportunity, but remember if it’s sound too good to be true it probably is.

They will offer you products that don’t even exist or worth nothing. Most of this fraud are run out of offices known as boiler rooms. This fraud has many names such as share sale fraud, hedge fund fraud, land banking fraud or bond fraud. The scammers will assure you will receive free research reports, special discounts and ‘secret’ stock tips. They want you to invest in stock or bonds and sometimes gold, silver or diamond, or wine, art or energy claiming that offered investment has incredibly good profit potential. To make you think you are dealing with legitimate company they usually rent an office in the city centre. Their tactic is quite simple they phone as many people as they can and offering irresistible deals that needs to be agreed quickly. If they manage to persuade someone to invest they will disappear.

To make safe investments and stay protected take a look at the Financial Conduct Authority’s ScamSmart warning list before you give your bank details or sensitive information.
